Communities in Schools of Arizona is a Phoenix Based non-profit that seeks to help at risk youth stay in school. Their vision goes hand in hand with All-Star Kids' vision, to break the cycle of illiteracy, as there is a direct correlation between the ability to read and whether a child will stay in school . Both organizations hope to enable children to learn and have opportunities to succeed not only in school but in life. The valley's youth will benefit greatly from this merger

Become a Volunteer
Volunteers come from all walks of life. 90 minutes a week can make a dramatic difference in a child's life. Children reading at or above grade level by the end of 3rd grade are much more likely to achieve personal and academic success.

School Partnership
ASKT collaborates with elementary schools to implement a tutoring model that reinforces literacy skills taught in school. ASKT recruits community volunteers, preparing and training them to be effective literacy tutors.
